Jacob Bourgeois (April 19, 1932 - July 1, 2021)
Jacob Bourgeois born in “the bluff” Evangeline, Acadia Parish Louisiana on April 19th 1932. Passed on July 1st 2021 at the age of 89 of old age. The son of Martin and Bessie Bourgeois. Brother to Nella Jimmy, Martha, Dorothy, Linda, Ann, Edward, Mike, and Charlie Bourgeois. Husband to Edna Mae (Gotte) Bourgeois. Father of Tim, Mark, David Daniel, Matthew, Vincent, Rita and Elizabeth Bourgeois. Served in the United States Marine Corps during the end of the Korean War. Was a retired (burnout) Deer Park Volunteer Fireman. Retired Safety Engineer from Total Corp. Founding member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Where he served as one of the scheduling coordinators of the perpetual adoration chapel, involved with St. Vincent De Paul, the men's club, the Knights of Columbus, and Eucharistic Minister….... Had a passion for vegetable gardening and sharing his knowledge with others. Enjoyed spending much of his free time in Louisiana taking care of the family's old homestead “The Old Place”. Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday July 9 at St, Hyacinth Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited 6:00 PM Thursday July 8, 2021 in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the Rosary. Interment will be 1:00 PM Saturday July 10, 2021 in Gatte Cemetery in Iota, Louisiana.
